Here were cleaning the internal walls of 150 foot diameter water tank with a Fasterblaster.
This is a knuckle roof type tank, which has a three foot radius between the wall and the world. Trolleys attached to the flat bars by shackles support a fasterbaster that can be moved forward as the work progresses around the time.
A trolley drive system supports the Fasterblaster machine hoist on the bottom rail of the twenty five foot long machine. The horse pulls the machine and lowers it down the wall, the machine, the hoist and the trolley driver are all operated from a wireless, handheld remote control. After the fasterblaster machine makes each pass, the operator moves the trolley driver ahead and lanuch the machine up for the next pass. When the operator gets to the end of the beam, the machine is lord to the ground. This takes the weight of the fasterblaster machine off the system and put some slack in the cables. The beam is move forward onto the next set of trolleys. The beam is locked in the place,so it can’t move. And the cleaning process for the next 25 foot section is continued.
During the cleaning operation, the trolley are move forward to continue the progression around the time. This process of planning a 25 foot section and moving the beam takes a about an hour.
The production time would be less. However, this tank has an internal angle ring that we have to contend with .we can also clean a lot of higher tanks that don’t have the knuckle design.Other methods can be used to support the hoist system. They can be support from an extended fork lift, scafflod scissors lift or special fixtures that can be use.
The machine and hoist can fit through a 24 inch diameter manhole.
As soon as the walls are complete, the Fasterblaster machine will be placed in the horizontal mode to blast cleaned the floor of the tank.
